About ScanToExcel

ScanToExcel started with a bank statement I needed in Excel. I wanted a straightforward way to get the data into a spreadsheet, without signing up for a subscription just to try it.

I began building my own converter in late 2025, using AI to read and structure the document. That became ScanToExcel. The task that started it still guides the work: getting data out of a document so it can be checked, edited, and used.

I continue to develop and maintain the service. Paid subscriptions help cover the cost of running it, and there is a free allowance for people who want to try it or only have occasional documents to convert.

Document extraction uses an AI processing provider. If you choose email delivery, an email provider also handles the result and a copy remains in your mailbox. Account records and diagnostic logs can persist.

The extracted data can need corrections. I recommend checking the result against the original before using it for calculations or importing it into another system.
