Can I use ScanToExcel for free?
Yes. The free tier gives you 10 conversions per day with no account required. Create a free account to enable batching and email delivery with Free+.
What counts as a conversion?
Each page of the file(s) you upload and convert counts as one conversion, regardless of the input or output format.
What is flat output?
Flat output means every extracted document is delivered as a clean, single-sheet table with consistent column headers — ready to drop straight into Excel, a database, or an accounting tool. No nested cells, no merged headers, no manual cleanup. Flat output is included on Free, Free+, and Premium.
Which input formats do you support?
JPG, PNG, HEIC, HEIF, TIFF, WebP, single-page PDFs (text or scanned), and multi-page PDFs (text or scanned). Available on every tier.
Which document types do you support?
Receipts, invoices, bank statements, credit card statements, paystubs, and images of tables. Available on every tier.
Which output formats do you support?
Free, Free+, and Premium all deliver Excel, CSV, Word, and JSON. Premium adds Xero CSV (for receipts, invoices, bank statements, and credit card statements) and QuickBooks CSV (for bank and credit card statements only). QuickBooks Online runs its own OCR for receipts and invoices and doesn't accept CSV import for those, so we don't generate those files.
Which currencies do you support?
Free, Free+, and Premium all support every G20 currency, plus most others. Currency is detected automatically from the document.
Which languages do you support?
Free, Free+, and Premium all support most languages — our extraction model is language-indifferent and handles mixed-language documents automatically.
Do you support mobile phone capture?
Yes. Free, Free+, and Premium all support taking a photo directly from your phone's camera — just open ScanToExcel on mobile and tap the upload area.
What payment methods do you accept?
We use Stripe as our payment processor, which accepts all major credit cards, debit cards, and local payment methods available in your country.
Do you store my files?
No. All documents are processed in-memory and permanently discarded after conversion. ScanToExcel never stores your uploaded files, extracted data, or generated output.
Is the privacy policy the same across tiers?
Yes. Free, Free+, and Premium never store files — documents are processed instantly and then discarded. We are based in Europe and follow GDPR. Privacy is in our DNA: we operate a zero-retention guarantee with no backups, no shadow copies, and no debug snapshots. Reconvert the same file tomorrow and we would have no record it ever existed.
