Ten months in: 70,000 documents and a fresh look

ScanToExcel

Ten months in, ScanToExcel has converted 70,000 documents. That's a lovely milestone for something I started as a side project. Thank you for using it, sharing it, and telling me what could be better.

It's been a while

Sorry for the silence here since May. Personal life has kept me busy, and writing updates slipped down the list. I'm still here, though, and I still answer your emails. The news page has been quieter than my inbox.

A fresh look, and two more languages

I've refreshed the homepage, document pages, comparisons, account screens, and the rest of the site. It feels cleaner, friendlier, and easier to find your way around, with a few doodles to keep things from getting too serious. Korean and Japanese are now available too, bringing the website to ten languages. Switching languages keeps you on the equivalent page.

A closer look at your exports

The new Schemas page shows what goes into each download: JSON fields, flat and non-flat layouts, and the available Xero and QuickBooks CSV templates across all six document types. If you've wondered what a particular output contains, there's now one place to look.

A fix for Premium after login

I also fixed loading issues that could make a Premium account appear as Free after logging in or refreshing the page. Thanks to everyone who flagged it. Seeing the wrong plan when you're already paying is understandably frustrating.
